American Quarterly looks for essays that contribute to our understanding of the United States in its diversity, its relations with its hemispheric neighbors, and its impact on world politics and culture. In addition to traditional scholarship, we include reviews of books, events, and digital projects, as well as items for the “Forums” section of the journal.  We accept submissions year-round, with a deadline of August 1 for our Special Issue.
