James Lee received his Ph.D. in English and M.A. in Asian American Studies from UCLA.  He is an assistant professor of Asian American Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara, where he teaches courses on Asian American literature and literary studies; comparative race studies; interdisciplinary approaches to Asian American Studies; and modern social movements. He is the author of Urban Triage: Race and the Fictions of Multiculturalism (2004).
